TRAINING UPDATE- #WWKHD #FITATL2011

99 days out from the  WBFF Fitness Atlantic 2011 …....

I am the QUEEN of CONSISTENCY right now!!

Strict adherence to my diet......day-in-day-out execution with my training and cardio!

Discipline means doing what you have to do when you need to do it, whether you want to or not! I guess I am luck cause I WANT to do it!! Luv it!

Day-in-day-out ……CONSISTENCY!!

On a mission.... EXECUTING the plan and staying focused!!

130 DAY CHALLENGE CHECK-IN

130 days DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feeling good… looking good….. and……………….. I’m back lol ;)

If you read this blog you know that I have been killin it in the gym!!

130 days ago I reached a breaking point. I had an honest heart-to-heart with myself and verbalized my complete disappointment!! I had let many daily distractions get in the way of accomplishing a goal I set out to achieve many years ago and a lifestyle that makes me HAPPY!!

It was time for CHANGE! So I set a goal, made a plan, and then EXECUTED!!!! That’s WHAT I Do!!!

My goal….Execute my plan day in – day out for 130days…. stick to THE PLAN for 130 days!!

That’s it! Just be dedicated, practice discipline, EXECUTE!

Easy right? Wrong!!!!!

It was not easy…. some days the very last thing I wanted to do was wake up at the crack of dawn for cardio, eat CLEAN and every 2.5-3 hours, go back to the gym after a long and stressful day at the office…. wawa wawa wawa (in my best Charlie Brown voice)

But I did it! I dug deep! I pushed through! Because that is what you do when you want something… YOU WORK!

Work for it

Work-it-out

Work with what you got

Work your mind until your body follows

Just DO WORK!!

Then you pause and say DAMN I feel good … smile and then…. keep WORKING!!

130 days was just a short-term milestone to me keep focused.

The challenge NEVER really ends!!

I picked a number that I knew would challenge my dedication, test my discipline, and bring ME back!!

You can pick any number… start with 1, 7, 30…. the number is not what matters.

The EXECUTION is what matters! Don’t just think about all the things you want to do “one day”…. DO THEM! Do them all! And don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t!

You can! You just have to be ready! Ready to deal with it mentally and physically…. ready to accept the WORK!

The process starts and ends (then repeatsJ) with YOU!

In the middle it helps to have support and motivation (friends, family, coaches, etc)

If you’re ready and need help getting started read my post on “planning” http://kandacehudspethfittips.posterous.com/executing-the-plan

But remember don’t get stuck in the planning!!!!! Get stuck in the DOING!!

Extreme results come from extreme commitment... consistency... and EXECUTION!

This is what it takes!Stay focused!! Practice discipline!!

Whats next for me?? Yep, the clock starts over!!!!! Today!!!!!!!

This time the number is 136!!!  EXECUTING the plan all the way to  April 16, 2011 for the WBFF Fitness Atlantic http://www.fitnessatlantic.com

130 day challenge check-in

60 days down... almost half way through the challenge. The last 10 days have been well very challenging. I traveled to China for a series of workshops and meetings  for 6 days. Then came back to a very busy week full of meetings and deadlines. Jet lag mixed with jam packed 12+ hour work days made it extremely difficult to get in all meals and workouts. This brings me to a very important topic.... the slippery slope of getting off track. It can happen so easily. You miss a meal due to one meeting running late and the next one waiting for you to start. You work late to get just a few more things done, next thing you know its bed time, you are still at the office, and you have missed a workout. A full day deviated from THE PLAN! Not good!

I don't know about you but for me this is an easy cycle to fall into. I care about my team, my clients, and the quality of the work that we produce! It is so easy for me to skip a meal or a workout for the sake of these things! It is actually VERY hard for me to leave and take the time for ME or MY personal priorities. I strive for excellence in all aspects of my life. It is not acceptable for me to have a "off day or two"! "off days" drive me nuts.... really they are not worth the frustration and feeling of defeat.

A friend of mine said to me yesterday.... come on don't be so hard on yourself, in 60 days you have only missed  training a handful of days... you have been working so hard in and out of the gym.

But that is the point! This challenge is to stick to THE PLAN for 130 days!! And beyond that, I mean 130 days is just a short-term milestone to keep focused. The challenge never really ends!!

I force myself to stay focused because I know the consequences of skipping a meal or a workout.  That is opening the door for a negative cycle. If by circumstance it happens once, I do not let it happen sequentially! I stop, reflect, and get with the program. This may seem extreme to some and I am ok with that. I prefer to function at an optimal state and I have learned that structure and discipline make me a happy girl!

Extreme results come from extreme commitment... consistency... and NOT deviating from THE PLAN! This is what it takes!

130 day challenge check in...

42 days into the 130 day challenge and feeling great! Getting back to my normal schedule after a much needed long weekend of R&R mixed with some intense gym time. I was so nice to not have to plan every minute of the day and feel rushed through my workouts. I spent the weekend here in the city, the weather was great and the mental down time was so nice!!

Yesterday was the start of a new phase of the 130 day challenge.... introducing carb cycling. Carb cycling is an effective tactic for leaning out, it has been a while since I have been this focused on my training and diet (like 6yrs) so it will be interesting to see how I respond. I will be using a very structured seven day plan that aligns to the intensity of my workouts (thanks to www.teamstirling.ca) Its time to kick it up a notch :) !!

130 day challenge check-in

26 days in and feeling great!

Fresh Direct just arrived with my weekly order so that means it is time to get cooking!!! Meal prep for the week includes making lots of chicken, brown rice, sweet potato, and veggies. Eight meals a day is a lot to get in but I'm making it happen!

I am looking forward to changes in my training program starting tomorrow... cranking it up!! :)

This week I was reminded of a quote from Pauline Nordin .....

"Discipline your dedication"

Discipline = training that corrects, molds or perfects

Dedication = devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose

This phrase is top of mind for me!! It is so easy to let work and daily challenges get in the way of your goals. When you have a rough day and wonder how you are going to fit in your training and your meals, just remember that nothing worth it comes easy. Understand that your daily decisions (no matter how small they seem) impact your success. Think about what you do and where it leads you!! Plan and prepare to get yourself through each day, week, month etc. Discipline your dedication!!

Renewed commitment and focus (130 day challenge)

The pace and drain of the day-to-day can sometimes block your VISION. Some people are ok with shifting focus to  take on a new (and sometimes to many) challenges... but what happens if you loose sight of your original goals as you take on new ones??

Some people like being a "jack of all trades, master on none" ------- Not me!! I like MASTERING!!!

A few days back I spent some downtime reflecting on my accomplishments to date (both personally and professionally)! I came to the following conclusion... I am no longer ok with postponing the accomplishment of one very core goal!!

Today is day 6 of my 130 day challenge to get in killer shape! Renewed commitment and focus!  A plan in place and a team to keep me in check!! Let's do this!!

124 days to go! Train hard!
